The students in the PEAC course `Bling It On` have been learning how jewellery and adornments have been worn by people from different cultures throughout the ages. We now understand they may represent wealth, power, fashion, faith, politics, technical innovations or love.
We have participated in two specialist incursions. Megan, from The Bead Company, taught us how to make necklaces, earrings and bracelets using specialist tools.
The course will culminate in an exhibition, to which all parents, carers, grandparents and close friends are invited. The students are certainly `BLINGING IT ON!`
We are all looking forward to our excursion to Perth Mint, where we will witness a gold pour and view precious pink and yellow diamonds, luminescent South Sea pearls and highly prized Australian opals.
This course will culminate with an exhibition of the students’ research, mood boards and creative efforts.
