Course Selection App Opens
Students can enter their Course Selections for Round 3 2023 at 1pm.

PEAC Courses are offered in 3 rounds each year, running between 10 and 11 weeks each round. Find out more about the PEAC program here
How to Enrol
Step 1: Check out the Course Catalogue to view all the courses on offer. Make a special note of when the course runs and the venue. Make sure you select courses you are able to attend. You will be allocated one of your four preferences and changes are very difficult to make once you have been allocated a course.

Course Selection Instructions
Login to the PEAC App using the following information:
- Student’s name (as written on their school enrolment form)
- Home School
- Date of Birth
You will be prompted to select 4 out of the courses on offer. The chance of course placement is limited by entering fewer courses. We will do our best to place your child into one of your preferred options but in the event it is not possible, you will be notified and asked to select another option.
Consider :
- Transport availability – Students must be accompanied by a parent/guardian to and from the PEAC venue, except in the case where the PEAC course is located at the student’s home school
- Specialist lessons – eg School of Instrumental Music
Additional Information
- As long as the course preferences are submitted before the closing date, the actual time of submission has no effect on the sorting process.
- Use a parent email address when requested. This will be used for course information correspondence and record of course achievement delivery.
- If you have any difficulties entering your preferences, please see your school’s PEAC Coordinator for assistance.
- If the problem cannot be resolved, submit the student’s preference by email to PEAC Admin including full name, Date of Birth, school and parent email.
A Letter of Course Placement informing you of the venue, day and time of the course into which your child has been enrolled will be email to the parent address supplied and to the home school.
Carpooling Option
The option to request carpooling is available in the app. We may be able to allocate students to the same course, when a formal carpooling request is made during the selection process.
In order for a carpooling request to be recognised by the app, parents must agree and enter the same information:
- students must be from the same school
- the same course preferences must be entered in the same order
- the students being carpooled must be listed and the correct spelling of each student’s full name is required
You must discuss carpooling plans with the other parents involved BEFORE entering a request. If done incorrectly the request may not get recognised in the computer sort.
The system will also only consider carpooling requests if both students enter each other in the carpooling section.
Informal carpooling arrangements can be arranged between parents at any time.

Course Selection
Only enter courses you CAN and WILL attend.
There are 5 rounds of courses over the 2 year program and you will have a chance to reapply for most courses. Be open and flexible to new learning opportunities. All courses are designed to be engaging and to develop critical and creative thinking.
Course Placement
Each round of PEAC Courses ~850 students are sorted and placed into ~50 courses.
The primary goal of the sorting process is to place ALL students into one of their preferred courses.
The computer based sorting program works through the students’ preferences to get all students placed into a course. Students in Year 6 have been weighted slightly higher to enable them a greater chance of getting a higher order preference. If a student is placed into any one of their preferred courses it is considered a successful placement.
Online Courses
The PEAC Online program offers courses to PEAC students who have difficulty accessing courses at the regular PEAC Centres. The online learning environment used in PEAC Online is the same one as used by the online secondary selective program for country students.
By participating in an online PEAC course students have the opportunity to:
- develop specific course content outcomes from a variety of Learning Areas;
- develop skills in personal self-management and using information and communication technologies to share their learning; and
- work with other like-minded peers from across Western Australia in an innovative learning environment.
Students should be aware that it requires considerable self-discipline to complete an online course and that the activities are challenging.
Students need regular access to a reliable computer with Internet access and reasonably up to date programs in Word, Excel and PowerPoint. Classroom teachers are encouraged to utilise the online courses as part of their provision for their gifted students, by allocating at least an hour of class time per week for the students to work on their online course. This is flexible and can be negotiated between the classroom teacher and student.
Computer Usage Agreement
ICT is an integral aspect of the PEAC Program. Each year students and parents sign a Student Computer and Internet User Agreement.
Online Learning Platforms
Many PEAC courses incorporate the use of computer based applications such as Seesaw, Edmodo, PBWorks EDUHub and Office 365 Class Notebook to enhance a student’s learning experience. The provision of these secure, private online environments enhances teacher and student interaction and creates a secure online journal where students can document and reflect on what they are learning in class. Details specific to each course will be provided by the class
teacher.
Student Information Form
Parent contact details and student health information is required for each student participating in the PEAC program. This allows PEAC teachers to plan and provide for the child’s individual needs while he/she attends PEAC and is required to ensure a suitable level of duty of care is maintained for every student.

It is essential that this form is updated by parents if any circumstances pertaining to the student changes, such as health details or parent contact information.
