Course Overview
Explore the rapidly evolving world of bionics and discover how technology can replicate and enhance human biological functions. In this course, you will investigate the biomechanics of human movement, examine how assistive technologies are designed and consider the role of artificial intelligence and machine learning in modern prosthetics. Thinking like an engineer and innovator, you will analyse how structure and function work together in the human body and how these principles can be translated into technological solutions. Through hands on STEM investigations, you will design, build and test a prototype assistive device to improve movement, grip or function, refining your ideas through iteration and evidence based reasoning.
This course extends your thinking by challenging you to apply scientific and mathematical concepts, solve complex problems and develop innovative designs that improve human capability.
