Course Overview
Imagine a world without music, or stories, or paintings… how miserable would it be? Whether it’s slam poetry, modernist art, a short film, or an operatic aria, you will choose an art to dig deep into and then produce your very own masterpiece. Your inquiry will involve investigating as aspect of the arts that you are interested in, such as your favourite director, singer, author or painter, or an artistic movement, genre or style that you love. You will then use your deepened knowledge as inspiration to get your creative juices flowing and compose your own work. You will learn about pastiche, imitation, subversion and adaptation as you decide how you translate what you find into your personal, original, award-worthy production.
