Course Overview
Design it. Build it. Test it. Improve it. In this course, you’ll tackle engineering challenges by creating towers and bridges that must withstand real testing. Using the Engineering Design Process, you’ll investigate why some structures succeed while others fail, refining your designs through experimentation, teamwork and creative problem-solving.
You’ll bring your ideas to life using both everyday materials and Minecraft Education, where you can model, test and communicate engineering solutions before putting your thinking into practice.
The course culminates in the Minimal Material Bridge Challenge, where you’ll research, design and construct a lightweight bridge using limited materials, competing to achieve the greatest strength with the least weight. You’ll present your design process, justify your engineering decisions and put your bridge to the ultimate strength test.
