Course Overview
Do you want to win every family game night? Behind every great game lies a hidden world of mathematics, and the players who understand it are the ones who come out on top! Through hands-on investigation, you will crack the maths behind favourites like UNO, Battleship, Monopoly and Risk, discovering why certain strategies give players the edge and how chance, decision-making and clever tactics all play their part. You will then take on the ultimate challenge: using the Creative Design Process to research, design, build, test and refine an original game of your own. As a special highlight, you will take part in an incursion to learn Senet, an ancient Egyptian game played more than 5,000 years ago, and consider how strategy and mathematics have fascinated game-players throughout history.
