Course Overview
Do you love sport and want to understand what separates good athletes from great ones?
In this course, you will investigate the science behind elite performance by exploring how muscles work, how the body adapts to training and how factors such as nutrition, drugs and lifestyle choices impact performance. You will think like a sports scientist by designing and conducting experiments. Using fitness testing protocols, you will collect and study data about performance. You will also look at real training methods used by athletes. By asking questions and using evidence, you will learn how and why performance improves, and find ways to make it even better. You may also have the opportunity to engage with athletes and analyse their training approaches.
This course extends your thinking by challenging you to interpret data, make informed conclusions and apply scientific concepts to real world contexts.
