Adornments have been worn by people from different cultures throughout the ages. They may represent wealth, power, fashion, faith, politics, technical innovations or love. In this course you will discuss issues surrounding the wearing of such items, and research, design and create your own `bling`. Will you be inspired by the ancient Egyptians, flowers, sport, insects, snowflakes or lolly wrappers? Will you opt for subtle trinkets, striking headpieces or bold, statement pieces? The possibilities are endless. During incursions you will be taught jewellery making techniques to enable you to express your creative vision. This course includes a visit to WA?s premiere jewellery destination, Perth Mint on 21 July. There we will witness a gold pour and view precious pink and yellow diamonds, luminescent South Sea pearls and highly prized Australian opals Please note parents are responsible for transporting their child. In the final session we will hold an exhibition of works for family and invited guests.
