Scitech Challenge Day

You are required to complete an online Parent Consent Form by Monday 16^th September

The form is password protected. The password has been provided in the email.

Students waitlisted for the event will be notified if a place becomes available.

Registration opens Midday Wednesday 21 August. An invitation code has been emailed to PEAC Parents on 19th August 2019. Please contact PEAC Admin if you have not received it.

The Challenge Day provides an opportunity for students to further develop and apply their critical and creative thinking skills to a relevant, real world problem.  Students who have a particular interest in the STEM subjects and have demonstrated a keenness in learning through exploration, in collaborative groups and/or hands-on experience would be well suited to the event.

Students will work in teams of 4 students towards understanding and innovating to solve the problem. Engagement with the problem will foster the development of students’ creativity, communication, critical thinking and collaboration skills as well as developing students’ sense of character and communication.  At the conclusion of the day, teams will be encouraged to communicate their process towards their solution with their peers and invited to present their final solutions to guest judges on the day.

Time:    9am to 3.30pm
Cost:    $30 per student plus $0.50 booking fee – includes morning tea and lunch

• Parents are responsible for the safe transport of their child to and from Scitech on the day. Students must be dropped off and collected by a parent or guardian.
• We will give preference to Year 6 students as they missed out on an opportunity to participate in 2018.
• Some North Metropolitan Primary Schools do enter school teams to this event; please check that you will not be participating in this event on another day as a part of a school team.
