This course invites students to explore what makes a story truly unforgettable. Through an in-depth look at the essential elements of compelling narrative, participants will develop their understanding of character, structure, voice, and tension – the building blocks of great literature. Students will put their skills to the test in a fast-paced collaborative chain story challenge, where creativity, quick thinking, and the ability to build on each other’s ideas all come into play. The course also features a visit from acclaimed West Australian author Mark Greenwood, offering students a rare opportunity to hear firsthand about the craft and journey behind published storytelling. To bring their own narratives to life, students will then step into the world of Minecraft Education, constructing vivid, immersive 3D environments that give their stories a world to live in.
